My work is generally connected to nature – the interaction of human presence within the landscape. It is concerned with the transience of existence, fragility, mutability, layering, transparency and movement. My initial process of exploration focuses on colours, textures and patterns of plants, shells, rocks and remains of habitation, whatever happens to be at specific sites. Finished pieces reflect the use of a diverse range of media, materials, and processes: fabric, dyes, printing, papermaking, stitching and painting are all used to describe the environment.
