Me Here Now - The Wisdom of Women
International Women's Day exhibition with Women's Resource Centre
The ’Me. Here. Now.’ exhibition will showcase works from women of the Bega Valley which explore themes around life experience or ‘Journey’ and the inevitable recycling or re-invention of oneself as we move through different phases and challenges in our lives. The works on display will be an expression and celebration of the strength, resilience and insight of women and reflect the value, individuality, splendour and wisdom of the ‘current self’ of the artists who create them. The intention in most of my paintings is to combine the elements of Mother Nature with the spiritual. Taking motives and symbols from different cultures and religions, the aim is to visually represent an invisible, feminine, creative power.
