From shamanic days to driving home through the forest at nights where they would suddenly appear, owls have long held me in their thrall.  Made from white earthenware clay, coloured with oxides and stains, and a little glaze, once-fired to 1010 C. 
 
The Hatted series has been an opportunity to capture many cultures. I hope you buy one or two then I can show some more.
 
David's owls have an upright stance, a large, broad head, binocular vision, binaural hearing, sharp talons, and feathers adapted for silent flight.
